Learn more about human trafficking and what you can do to make a difference. Find out how you can make a difference by combining your efforts with others in a way that has impact. ![]() University and college students can play a unique and essential role in the effort to end domestic minor sex trafficking for at least two reasons: First, because many middle school and high school youth look up to college students--while at the same time also seeing them as trusted peers--college students can act as trusted messengers to younger peers on a topic that is often awkward for adults and even parents to deliver. Second, because traffickers invest time and energy learning how and where to connect with teens on the web, combating and preventing human trafficking also requires strong technology, web, and social media knowledge. Freedom-U will identify many ways university students can immediately leverage their age, knowledge, and position, to become effectively engaged in drying up the pool of potential minor trafficking victims in the U.S. Freedom-U will provide “resume-worthy” training and professional networking opportunities for students interested in a human trafficking specialization in criminal justice, social work, communication, English, computer systems and security, or other related fields. The goal of Freedom U is to engage university & college students in the movement to end the trafficking of children and young people in this country. UPCOMING EVENTS
